  • Hygiene Treatment

  • This is our term for teeth scaling and polish, or “teeth cleaning”. Oral hygiene is about caring for your gums, tongue and other oral tissues as well as your teeth.

Healthy gums are the foundation for healthy teeth and great smiles. Every mouth is different, so your dentist will advise on the best hygiene regimen for you to obtain and maintain optimum oral health.

Hygiene treatment is usually required annually for most adults, but 3, 4 or 6 monthly visits are indicated for some people. Hygiene treatment involves removing the calculous that builds up over time and cannot be removed by toothbrushing.

  • Root Canal Treatment
  • Root Canal Treatment

  • This dental procedure is indicated when the innermost part of the tooth, “the pulp” becomes decayed or infected. Sometimes there can be an abscess present also.

To save the tooth the infected pulp and nerve tissue need to be removed and the inside of the root canals cleaned and sterilised before a root filling is placed in each canal. In dental terms we call this “Endodontics”.

After a root canal filling has been successfully completed, often a crown is recommended as this will help prevent the tooth from cracking.
